Handstands Quotes

I'm in good shape. My cancer means I have lost a lot of organs and I'm a lot lighter. I have devoted myself to yoga and I'm doing handstands.

I was always doing something physical. My brothers and I used to have handstand contests. We'd walk around the projects on our hands and see who could get the farthest. I was always playing football with them, basketball or racing in the street.

Sometimes I feel like tap-dancing, screeching, unscrewing light bulbs, pulling curtains, combing hair, doing knee bends, handstands and turning somersaults out there.

Why are we doing all these handstands, backbends and arm balances? I don't know why we're doing them unless our lives are shaped and changed.

A new yogi doesn't handstand on their first try, and a new teacher doesn't start out as a headliner. Be patient, and trust it's all going to add up and unfold in due time.
